
Has anyone tried to sign up for the cell phone offer through Verizon (actually through Apex Wireless/Evergreen)? TL;DR It's very sketchy and just wondered if anyone had actually done it.
The first red flag is that they want you to enter your IMEI1 and IMEI2 codes into one field that only has 15 chars (enough for only 1 IMEI). Also notice that it will allow you to enter more than 10 chars in the porting number field but it will not let you enter more than 15 digits in the IMEI field.
The second red flag is that if you call the number, it says you can answer "most of your questions" by visiting their FAQ website. The FAQ site requires you to log in, but then says it has no record of your email address. Trying to create a new sign in won't get past the sign in page.
The third red flag is that calling them and selecting some non-intuitive prompts gets you to a hold queue that terminates in leaving a voice message. I don't expect to get a call back.
It does let you get to a page where you can actually place the order, but if it only has 1 IMEI code, I don't want to continue and charge my card unless I know it will actually transfer the number. Also, I opted to transfer 2 phones and it hasn't prompted me for anything for the second phone except the charge.
