I know I'm just ranting here, and that nobody probably cares too much for my moans and groans, but I just need somewhere to vent.
I've just had another crash/bug undo a full day of satisfying progress, the like of which I'll probably need several days in game (and several hours of my actual life) to repeat each step of.
I adore this game, its atmosphere and all of its lore. I've even been falling asleep listening to the soundtrack lately.
But the immense frustration of having my hard-earned progress go to waste is fast diluting that love, I'm sorry to say.
The fact that this game does not include frequent autosaving is a huge asterisk against my ability to recommend it.
I can only assume that it's not been included because they want to dissuade save-scumming against the (at times brutal) RNG, but you know what - people are going to find a way to cheat at games regardless, by one means or another (is it not also cheating to look up puzzle solutions online)?
They only dilute their own satisfaction in doing so, and not allowing honest players to simply guard against potential technical issues which are out of their control is punishing and demotivating.
I really, really hope this crash doesn't kill my enthusiasm for this game off once and for all.
