So, I'm gonna start playing, and my friend explained to me that a spell is any card except for lands, everything is cool till' this point but reading Horde of Notions says " You may play target Elemental CARD from your graveyard"

And Ashling reads "Elemental SPELLS you cast from your hand...."

Why does one card read "spells" and the other one "card"? Besides playing from the hand or graveyard, it's already implied from where you play your card. It just makes everything at least for me more confusing.

Sorry for the rant, I get many things this is not my first TCG but man, it just sounds convoluted for the sake of it.
