We frequently hear that g is the greatest predictor of performance in all roles but one issue is that g has fixed subtest weighings even when the roles may prioritize something different. For example performance in engineering roles would likely benefit from a heavier weighing of VSI and weaker VCI and air traffic control benefits more from WMI PSI and VSI but if we use g without applying any sort of equity redistribution for roles we'll find that candidates could have the same g even though some are better suited.
So my question is, is there any research on maximizng predictive power by applying a subtest equity redistribution on IQ?
