People are bad at stealing from their jobs, I wasn't.
I have seen all kinds of things about how people get fired etc. for stealing from their jobs, why? It's because they steal inventoried & other tracked Items. When I worked in the back-room warehouse of a big box store 10 years ago I stole all of the time and never got caught. How? Well, everything that I stole was return items, other than being labeled as such, they weren't put into any kind of system for tracking. The handful of people I saw get fired for stealing over the years I was there were stealing things like Redbull or electronic items that were tracked and inventoried in a system that would show a discrepancy if something went missing. When items were returned, they just had a sticker slapped onto them and thrown into a big box of all kinds of other non-food return items. A lot of the time these items aren't even defective and are perfectly good, I found and took controllers, video games, cables, drinking glasses, you name it, some I still use to this day. Having worked in that backroom for a while I knew where all the cameras were and where you couldn't be seen by them, being buddy-buddy with the AP team helped too. It was very easy to take stuff because once you loaded a pallet of return items on the back of a truck trailer there was no vision in there and plenty of shelving and other boxes and stuff to obscure vision.
That's it. Remember kids, if you're going to steal, steal what you can get away with and not what you want.
