[Spoilers Extended] A Unified Cosmology for Game of Thrones: Fire, Ice, Order and the Joker
Cosmology theory of “A Song of Ice and Fire”
The world is held together by the Neutral side “Order”, which stands between the eternal conflict of two great forces: Flame and Ice.
However, there is a fourth force, it is humans, mere pawns who are beginning to realize their own power.
The Three Forces
Flame (Chaos and Life) feeds on passions, wars, and intrigue. Its sealed weapon — dragon eggs. Its priest — the Red Priestess. Its embassy in Ice’s territory - Craster, who pays tribute with infants. The Targaryens are pieces of Ice inside Flame.
Ice (Void and Death) feeds on the sacrifices of wildlings. Its weapon - the Others. Its priest - the Night King or Lady Stoneheart(like in the book). Its embassy in Flame’s territory - the House of the Many-Faced God with the words “All men must die” and “All men must serve” a-like of dead others serving a death god(ice). The main Others(a-like kings of the night) are children of Flame.
Order (Balance) is the weakest side. It feeds on offerings in the godswoods and memory. Its weapon - Arya. Its priest - the Three-Eyed Raven. Its altar - the Night’s Watch and the Wall.
Characters Who Shift to Order
• From Flame - Jon Snow: after resurrection he loses pieces of fire and grows colder.
• From Ice - Arya: trained by the Faceless Men, yet remains herself.
• From Order - Hodor, the protector.
• Sansa - the judge who has experienced both extremes.
Finale
The priests of both sides are killed. The Joker — the fourth force, humanity,
appears. This is Petyr Baelish. It is him whom Sansa ultimately accuses — not the Others, not the dragons, not the Red Wedding, but a man whose petty greed and cunning nearly tore apart all the ancient seals.
The Neutral side wins in some way: Bran becomes king to reseal the forces and acknowledge humans as the fourth side. His council includes Tyrion (the voice of men), Jon (cold heart), and Arya (warm heart).
