Hello! I got my Mirena placed 3 months ago during surgery for Endometriosis. (I was diagnosed so my Dr opted for a BC with no estrogen, which I have personally never been a fan of for my body anyway.)
As of last week, I have developed horrible acne on my chest, shoulders, back, chin, forehead, jaw, etc. I have never had issues with acne in my life aside from the normal random pimples. Nothing has changed aside from my IUD. My Dr wants me to continue to let the hormones settle for another 3 months.
I have also felt like I look extra swollen in the face, and I have had multiple ovarian cysts (growing up to 6cm) since insertion. Overall, I am not a fan of this birth control so far for myself. Is there any hope that these side effects may lessen or go away if I continue to let the hormones settle? For reference I have had Nexplanon, Nuvaring, combo pills and now the IUD. I feel like I’ve exhausted everything so far🥲
