Hi guys I was hoping for some help or support, I really don’t know where to go from here
Yesterday I tried to use my switch 2 and it said I was suspended. I was really confused because I have never said anything lewd or used weird usernames, I don’t use game chat, and I keep everything appropriate. I called Nintendo support today, and they told me I was suspended for fraud/unauthorized purchases.
I was super confused at first because it either would have been my card used or my parents (I’m very grateful they support my gaming hobby). I read off the last 4 digits of the potential cards I would use to purchase things to the customer service rep and he said the card flagged had none of the last 4 digits I read off. That’s when I realized what happened.
A few months ago I was seeing this guy. No bad blood just didn’t work out. He loved gaming too and wanted to buy me a video game I’ve been wanting for a while. When he put in his credit card information for the game, I didn’t think it would save as the primary card on my Nintendo account. I realized I had to have been unknowingly using his card for V bucks and other games, and he must’ve flagged it as fraud.
I embarrassingly explained what I assume happened to the rep and he said to me the only way to get my account back was for them to talk to the cardholder who flagged the charges. I asked if there was something else I could do to fix this considering this is an ex of mine and clearly it was a simple misunderstanding, but they said no.
Although we left off on neutral terms, I haven’t spoken to him in months. I sent him a text explaining everything and telling him I will pay back every single cent of what I charged and that I’m hoping he would consider helping me get my account back.
I don’t really know why I’m writing this I think I’m just looking for support or maybe some advice as well on what to do. He hasn’t answered yet but I’ve been crying my eyes out all morning at the thought of losing the hundreds and hundreds of hours of gameplay I’ve racked up under my account. Any advice or support you guys have to give is appreciated. Thanks.
EDIT: I calculated everything that I bought and I owe him about $160
UPDATE: I have reached out for two days at this point. I even offered to give him extra money on top of the $160 just to make the call to customer support. He has not responded still. I think tomorrow if he still doesn’t say anything my last ditch effort will be to offer an extra $100. If you can’t already tell I’m very desperate I’ve had my account for eight years.
FINAL UPDATE: thank you guys for the support, honesty, and advice. He finally responded and said he had been busy with work yesterday and today, but he’s happy to help me get my account back after I pay him the money. I zelled him the 160 and I’m just waiting on him to confirm that he’s called customer service to explain.
