A papillon would be a great fit for me in most ways, with the one huge caveat I am pretty bothered by loud, frequent barking.

I have never had a vocal dog. My current dog barks a lot when people come to the door or at strangers coming into the house, but is otherwise quiet.

This is silly, but I can’t really imagine why else a dog would bark. So when yall describe your pap as yappy, what do you mean? That they’ll bark at sounds or sights outside? Demand bark for attention? Bark at their own reflection? Or just for the fun of it?

How long does it go on and how frequent is it? Has anyone had experience training them to be more quiet?
