I’m pretty sure this is an elm - but what kind?

Leaves have a rough feel almost like sandpaper.

Neighbors had a pair of gorgeous elms decades ago that they had treated for Dutch Elm Disease. New neighbors destroyed the trees when they did a tear down/ new build.

This is growing too close to the house. Hoping that this is American elm & I’ll try to save it if possible.
