Coast or change job or else
Usual can't speak to friends / people that know me + throwaway account.
Also a bit different but all fire related.
I work for a ftse100 company (bottom end but ldn based) running IT but not a tech company. fortunate package, I spend little per month but the job allows me to max the pension allowance, ISA and now 20k or more into gia. I'm paid very well for what I do mainly because of the industry, change, scale, pressures etc however the crux is I've hated the job for maybe 3 years, it's getting worse and I'm burning out / very miserable.
I'm 40, 350k ISA, 500k pension, Gia 23k, db today's value 9k a year. 150k outstanding mortgage.
I have about 400k tied up in RSU, it pays outin parts annually and tops up annually, 3 year range. If I was made redundant I would likely see a large portion if not all vested and about a years severance.
I started considering different jobs for the first time in 8+ years. I've applied for one im genuinely interested in / excited for, offer on table. Catch.. it's still classed as well paying for the role but currently lacks bonus, shares etc I would get the same monthly living but there would be minimal ISA/pension/gia input. If I went pension only then this would at most be 30k annually but likely less as I'd probably use more ISA then pension on the lower wage.
Curious on the views of others and thoughts. The job is likely to get worse due to organisation changes, may get redundancy but also that may not be for 2 years. Other option on my mind is no direct job but take some time off, find the spark for a business idea as I've done before
Tia and I'll answer any questions or ideas
