Advice on my crown failing...
I'm looking for some advice here...last week I was biting into a homemade sandwich that had NO hard foods inside and my crown just fell out. At first I thought it fell out with the cement they had used only 2 years ago although after visiting a local dentists they advised my that it was in fact my old real tooth (what I like to call the shark tooth under the fake one). Anyway, I had this done a couple of years ago after having root canal treatment. 2 years since it was put in with regular hygienists and check ups within those two years and it still fell out...is that normal?
Most importantly, my dentists are referring me to another surgery to advise me on dental implants because this fix done in the first picture isn't permenant enough. Has anyone had something similar happen and did they chose to go ahead with a dental implant? Should I see how long this fix will last before committing £4,000+ for a new implant procedure?!
Ideally the £267 I just spent to have the tooth placed back in will last a while, certainly more than 2 years. For any dentists out there, does this fix look sturdy to you and would you day I really need to worry about an Implant so soon after having this one cemented back in?
TIA!
