HELP, Cheeto scratched me :(

I was visiting Cheeto as usual this evening, and the lil guy came out of the bushes, rubbed against my legs, and exposed his tummy in front of me. I thought that was his usual sign of allowing me to pet him, so I proceeded to run my hand from the back of his neck to around where his tail starts.

After a few pets, he got overstimulated, suddenly raised his paw, and swiped me. It left a ~1-inch scratch that bled a little bit and puffed up immediately. I biked as fast as I could back to my dorm (made it in 5 minutes!) and scrubbed the wound with running water and soap.

Do you guys know if Cheeto has been taken care of? How likely is he to carry diseases that can infect my wound? Has anyone else been scratched by campus cats before? Just looking for some peace of mind regarding his current vaccination status, or any advice if you've been on the receiving end of his claws!

Also, take this as a PSA that petting campus cats carries its inherent risks! Don't approach these lovely creatures if they look tired or agitated! Even if they look relaxed, be really cautious when interacting with them!

Favorite biking routes?

Hey everyone, does anyone have favorite short (~5-10 mile) bike routes starting from campus? My main goal is to avoid riding next to cars as much as possible, but I also want long, uninterrupted stretches where I can safely push my pace as fast as possible without dodging pedestrians.

If you have a favorite go-to loop or path, please let me know! :)

Hey guys! I’m Peter (19M), a first year biological sciences major. I’m looking for more roommates for the SD4 apartment at Sol for the 2026-2027 lease term!

Quick info about me:

  • I keep my living spaces very clean due to health conditions, and I am very respectful of other people’s space.
  • I don’t have a lot of free time because I’ve been taking multiple challenging STEM classes and do extracurriculars outside of class. I tend to be study-focused during the week, so I really appreciate peace and quiet in the apartment.
  • On weekends or when I have free time, I like to bike out to explore the surrounding area, go see Cheeto, or take a walk in the Arboretum. I’ve done multiple 50+ mile biking day trips, so if you’re into biking, we would be a great match! :D

Hoping to find roommates who:

  • Values a clean space: Someone who is also clean and proactive to keep shared spaces tidy at all times,
  • Appreciate a calm atmosphere: On the same page about keeping it quiet and study-friendly during the week.
  • Prefer a substance-free home: Refrain from drinking, smoking, or using substances, because of my health condition.
  • Are mindful about guests: I generally prefer a low-traffic living environment, but I am very open to talking this out and finding a solution that works for everyone!

But the most important thing for me is being communicative and having mutual respect, keeping these in mind would iron out our differences effectively :)

Thank you for reading this, and please feel free to send a DM if you are interested or have any questions :D Looking forward to living with you!
