Crossover vs sedan sizes?
It seems to me like crossover and sedan size classes are off by one notch. I don't drive but I frequently ride in taxis and rideshares and it always feels like crossovers of a certain size feel like they have about the same amount of interior space as sedans that are a size larger.
For example, using Toyota:
The interior space in the Corolla cross feels very similar to the Corolla. RAV4 feels similar to a Camry. Highlander and Grand Highlander feel more like full size sedans such as the Avalon or even larger.
And this is just based on the interior space, not height, cargo, other obvious differences between sedans and crossovers. It just feels to me like the Corolla cross should be a compact, RAV4 should be mid size and Grand Highlander should definitely be full size. Regular Highlander and crown signia I'm not sure.
