Sorry I don't know how too link to my previous post, if anyone knows tell me and I'll do it.

Turns out, I was all worked up over nothing. She asked how I was doing on the Slynd, I said fine, and that was it! She renewed my Rx for another year and (this is the part I think I misunderstood last year) she said we'd see where I'm at next year as far as whether we keep on it or change to something else.

So I feel sooo much better about everything now. I think we're just going to take things as they come and not worry about what hasn't happened yet.

A big thank you to everyone who weighed in on my original post, I felt heard and supported.

This is going to be a long post and I'm sorry but I want to make sure I explain everything.

I had a stroke 3 and a half years ago. Luckily it was small and I have no lasting issues. I was overweight, had high blood pressure and cholesterol because I literally ate whatever I wanted (fast food 2 or 3 times a week, entire bags of chips in one setting, a whole sleeve of Oreos, etc) and never did any kind of exercise. Also my grandmother died of complications from a stroke.

Fast forward to now and I have made major lifestyle changes. I exercise 3 days a week, have completely cut out regular soda and fast food, and have lost 30 lbs.

When I had my stroke, my gyn immediately took me off my Ortho Tri Cyclin, and switched me to Slynd. I've been taking it ever since.

I'm 51 years old and have yet to have any symptoms that I can definitely say are peri related. Now obviously I realize that it will hit me at some point no matter what I'm taking or not taking, but obviously I would like to make this transition as easy as possible.

This is where my upcoming gyno appointment comes in. At my appointment last year, she said she would prescribe me Slynd for one more year. Stupidly I didn't ask her why and was just happy to still have it (and of course a year seems so far away). Right after my stroke she made it clear that she would never prescribe me any form of HRT, not even the patch because of my stroke. Vaginal estrogen is the only thing she said she would give me.

Now that my appointment is staring me in the face, I'm terrified she's going to stop my Slynd and I will immediately be thrust headlong into peri. I already know my insurance doesn't cover Vezoah so that's out. I just feel like this is not fair to me because even though I'm almost 99.9% sure that estrogen had very little to do with my stroke, if at all, I'm not asking her to prescribe HRT if /when I start having bothersome symptoms. Had I been someone who exercised, ate healthy and had normal blood pressure, I would be more inclined to think that it was the BCP that caused it.

The kicker is, she's one of only 3 providers in my city who are members of the North American Menopause Society, so it's not like she doesn't have an understanding of peri.

Again, I am so sorry this is long but I actually had a nightmare the other night that she stopped the Slynd and I got fired from my job because of brain fog and lack of sleep.

Does anyone have any advice as to what I should do?
