I had some money in my esop at an old job. When I left in 2019 it went into an esop escrow account. I got yearly statements. I dont remeber where my last one is so I tried logging into adp to see it. It is all zeros with no transaction history. I emailed my old job and they said "there is a 1099R showing a rollover in 2024 to your financial institution" i never received anything, no documentaion, emails, no 1099r form. Adp doesnt even show a 1099r to re print.
Could it have been stolen? My other 2 401k's from 2 other jobs are still in their respective accounts.
I know i know, I need to roll over to an ira. But im panicking at the moment. There was a big nest egg in there from when the esop disbanded begore I left.
Update! My old hr lady was super vague and pointed me to the wrong place of the website making it all look like zero balance with zero transaction history. I should have known, she was always kinda ditzy. Anyway, it was automatically rolled over to a automatically generated ira account and it took a lot of digging around on ADP to find the right spot. I'm verifying my id now.
FYI if this happens to you it's all legit. Inspira Financial is legit and its a real thing that your money can just be popped over to some auto generated account if you don't touch it for too long. She said I signed a waiver stating that but I'll be honest i had just been laid off and having a slight mental break trying to sign shit at get out plus it was 7 years ago.
As soon as I get access I am moving my other 2 old 401k's right away. Don't just sit on them ppl. Learning the hard way. It's not a BAD thing but it sure would have resulted in less of a panic lol
