Weight loss before cpap or vice versa? Does untreated apnea cause weight gain?

I was recently diagnosed with moderate sleep apnea . I am morbidly obese , 24yrs 250 5’6 ish female .
My GP asked me if cpap is something i wanted to do & told me to lose weight to get off it.
My problem is after this diagnosis alot of things were making sense, i used to be 170-190 for MANY YEARS .
All of a sudden 2020 ish it was like my body couldn’t keep up, i dropped out of full time uni ,said goodbye to walks/biking, i ate too much most likely because i was looking for a quick boost always, i went from 180- 230 i kid u not i remember weighing myself & being so confused. I literally thought i was a lazy depressed POS but maybe i was just sleep deprived to the max. Then ofc the weight just kept packing on

My question is I’m sure that weight loss might help but is cpap worth it considering my situation or is this a thing where the weight is the problem meaning maybe i benefit from investing in weight loss meds instead . All i could think was how did i gain so much weight, but could the no good sleep could have possibly caused this? Can undiagnosed untreated sleep apnea cause weight gain like that?

I was thinking start cpap asap & get a healthy routine down but now im second guessing

What jobs would be best for me? I currently just work at a part time - retail store by my house)
Im looking to get a bit better pay livable hours, what are the other options nothing that includes driving or too much bending ( bad knees history of dislocations)
My only education is high school diploma & 5 years retail experience

Is Cpap and apap same thing? Which is the best option

Hi , i was recently diagnosed with moderate sleep apnea my ahi is 25 . Is cpap & apap the same machine or separate purchases
For exact reference : total of 44 apnea events occurred for an apnea index of 7.3/hour. 111 hypopnea events occurred for a hypopnea index of 18.5/hour. 155 apnea and hypopnea events were observed during the analysis period as follows, 44 obstructive apneas, 0 central apneas, 0 mixed apneas, and 111 hypopneas for an apnea/hypopnea index of 25.9/hour.
I was told i need : APAP therapy using a properly fitted mask and heated humidification, with pressure settings between 4 and 16 cm water. Reassessment after approximately two weeks is advised to evaluate treatment response and determine whether Auto-CPAP should be continued or changed to fixed-pressure CPAP.

Is a CPAP and APAP the same?
I’m confused im paying out of pocket ( currently in a online program part time & working part time no coverage) do i have to buy 2 machines or what?

The sleep clinic said my options are
1- TMED Series 7 $2950 cad
2- ResMed AirSense 10 $ 2850 cad
3- ResMed AirSense 11 $ 2950 cad
All of these pricings are mask/hose included , which is the best, does anyone have experience with these
Side note Im so relieved to get this diagnosis it explains why i was so tired, gave up my workout routine & gained several pounds. im only 23 so :(

I got a at home sleep apnea test ( classic 1 on finger , nasal connection & chest band) bare min 6 hours & 2 nights of it
Did this happen to anyone else , i had insufficient data the first time because both nights the nasal piece came off or the finger it was one or the other no matter what i think i move too much who knows
I just did my retest im about to hand it in but im 90% sure ill have redo because first night i only slept like 6 hours it was uncomfortable & i had work at 8am , second night i think the machine alice one died or something i woke up & it wasnt on at all so no clue how long it was on for.

Did this happen to anyone else, im very annoyed its hard to sleep with all that & nearly impossible or something idk but i move around alot. Did anyone need to redo the hsat 3 times?
