I moved to France in 2021. I will finish 5 years soon. I was on and VLS validated as a residence permit for the first year. And after that I was on carte de séjour salariée lasting one year for the past 5 years.
Due to work permit delays and bureaucracy, I have been on chômage twice, for a total of 8 months.
I have good savings and my current salary is ok, <2k.
I will write my civic exam soon and a B2 exam. I already did the CIR.
However when I asked the lady at the prefecture about my file she said I am not eligible because the system shows I moved only in 2022. Because the first visa was in my passport and not as a card. Plus I am worried the chômage makes me seem like a bad candidate.
Can others please share their carte de 10ans experience, I have a feeling the rules are getting tighter because my friend was rejected as her salary has not been too high apparently (it has been greater than smic) so I am very confused.
