Airport taxi questions

We were gonna take the Flybus from KEF to Blue Lagoon, but I’m worried that if we miss the bus for any reason we’ll have to eat the cost of the tickets (next one is 3 hrs later, not an option).

I was thinking we can avoid pre-booking transportation and just grab a taxi from the airport.

Questions:

For 3 people, would cost be about the same as the Flybus (~13,185 ISK)?

Will there be long lines for the taxi at 9/9:30am in June?

Would the taxis fit 3 people + 3 carry-ons comfortably?

What about getting Flybus tickets at the airport? If we’re on time for the bus we can just do that.

Genuinely curious about this. I’ve always disliked tops that hit halfway down my butt cheeks. Major pet peeve.

They cut my body in half, which I never found flattering and later learned is a fashion no-no anyway.

I also hate that in the back they basically end at the point at which your crotch area starts…why would anyone want that?
Like, yes- let’s cover everything and then leave the crotch area for the eyes of anyone walking behind you to be drawn to. Right where the wedgies and all the fun stuff happens.

Yet…this is how the majority of tops are designed, specifically sweaters/sweatshirts that I have to avoid for this reason. I’m currently looking for a fleece sweater and they’re ALL like this.

I only buy tops that either cover my entire ass or end above it. I find these to be sooo much more flattering.

Is it just me? Am I the only one with this issue because I have an hourglass shape with ample butt cheeks? Or is this a style nobody prefers, but the fashion industry keeps pushing on us for some reason?

Visiting in June. Our flight arrives at KEF at 8:10am. The next (“destination blue lagoon”) Flybus is at 9:30am.

I have no idea how long it takes to get out of KEF and get to the bus- is this doable?

Additional info:

We’ll have to go through the non-Schengen passport control line because one of the group members is from a non-Schengen country (other 2 are US citizens).

Next bus is too late at 12:30pm so if this is too risky I’d appreciate other suggestions for transport. I saw private transfer options via Hreyvill and Snaeland Travel- but both are quite pricey. Are there any other options?

We’d rather not rent a car just for the Blue Lagoon.

Need some help deciding.

We’re a group of 3. We fly in in the morning and will only be in Reykjavík for a night before leaving for a ring road tour the next morning.

I love the location of the Sand Hotel, we’ll be able to make the most of our day by being in the city center and get some flexibility if one of us wants to explore and others take a nap etc. But we can only book one room for the 3 of us because prices are quite steep in June. Not a huge deal for one night, but still it would be nice to have two bathrooms.

At Grandi we can get 2 rooms for the same price. But the location would mean having to take a taxi (or long walk) into the city center. It also just doesn’t look as “nice” as Sand Hotel, but maybe that’s more so in pics than in person? Both have great reviews.

I heard Sand Hotel can get noisy on weekend nights (it’ll be Friday night). But I also heard that the area around Grandi might have ongoing construction.

I can’t decide! Would appreciate input from those who’ve stayed at either.

(We won’t be having the hotel breakfast so that’s not a factor)
