I’m a FTM with a 9 week old EBF, I just want to get my story out there since I didn’t think I could have mastitis since there was no redness at the site.
I’ve never been one to get sick. I can’t remember the last time I had a fever or something beyond a cough. Yesterday I noticed breast tenderness with no redness so figured it was a clogged milk duct. I tried to resolve it but was I able to. I went to bed and I felt achy, I thought it was from being uncomfortable, but then I felt hot and it suddenly hit me this is what body aches must feel like! I checked my temperature and yup 101. I checked my breast again and still no redness. I called my doctor and am on antibiotics but today I feel just awful. Chills made an appearance, body aches, fatigue, fever. I’m nursing/pumping on the affected side and applying cool compresses. Hoping it resolves soon.
