Where should I Place my Desk and Monitors?
I've decided on a room to use for my audio space where I'll be composing, mixing, and sound designing. Recording is not a priority.
Room dimensions:
11'x 9.67'x 7.67' (3.5m x 3m x 2.33m)
I am trying to figure out which wall to put my desk and monitors on. Does anybody have thoughts or opinions on this. Below are my general thoughts...
Option 1(desk is on top wall)
- easier to wall mount extra monitor/tv
- more space for monitors and bass traps
- no vent that could blow air on ceiling cloud
- window wall will not have as much treatment
- slightly less treatment in back and side walls
Option 2 (desk is next to window wall)
- allows for more treatment on the back and side wall
- leaves window (and curtains) in front and won't need to be treated
- air duct above desk might make it hard to put in ceiling cloud
-about 1 ft less space to fit in monitors and bass traps
-more difficult to mount extra monitor above primary due to window
Generally Option 1 will fit my equipment better but leave more of the room untreated (slightly so)
I would consider Option 2 if it has more potential though. Any thoughts? Thanks!
