I’m trying to fix my girlfriend’s phone, but I’m a bit stuck.

I’ve tried pretty much everything to reduce the “System Data”: the date trick, clearing Safari data, deleting apps… but nothing has changed.

I’m unable to install the iPhone update, which might help resolve the issue.

At this point, the only real solution seems to be resetting the iPhone. However, I’m facing a serious issue: there hasn’t been a recent backup of WhatsApp.

From what I’ve read online, creating a WhatsApp backup requires having roughly twice the amount of free storage available (which sounds absurd, but apparently that’s how it works). So right now, I can’t even start the backup. This means that if I reset the iPhone, I might lose all the most recent chats.

Does anyone know if there’s another way to clear the System Data?

And more importantly: if I reset the phone without a WhatsApp backup, will I lose everything permanently, or is there any alternative?

Also, in the settings I can see some WhatsApp data on iCloud: in case of a reset, will it use the most recent data stored on iCloud, or only the latest backup created directly from the WhatsApp app?
