I was hoping to squeeze some more life out of the catalytic converter but it was so clogged it looked like a dryer sheet on the boroscope. This car is basically my ship of theseus at this point, and any time something breaks ive been upgrading as economically as possible. For any DIY mechanics intimidated by projects that require dropping the subframe, its super easy on the first gens.
If anyone is wondering, this is an 07 manual GT, and the lower arms are from aussie company SuperPro, who fits the stock arm with solid poly bushings. I cant find much feedback about using them daily, so I hope they hold up more than a few years.
Using my own labor and tools, i got a new cat, denso O2 sensors, gaskets, control arms, and the replacement OE hardware installed for ~790 US
Felt good about it, had to yell into the void
Happy zooming!
