We have been in an interesting situation. My sister dated and then helped immigrate a Gambian Muslim into the US, who she then married last year. She’s footed the entire bill for this man. My family is Christian, but she has drifted away as an adult and I’d guess she is probably atheist, but she’s never been open with us. Initially she said this man would be willing to accept her beliefs as she accepted his. As the first year of him being here has progressed she has backed out of every family holiday and started speaking highly of Muslim beliefs. Now she’s converting. I feel like they are more hesitant to come to my home for a holiday because my husband is a pastor.
Has anyone else ever dealt with a situation like this? My father is probably rolling around in his grave over this. It’s really tearing the family apart.
