I'm looking to see if anyone has done something similar and if it worked the way my brain is telling me it will.
My future father-in-law is a sweetheart and is letting me use his barn as a chicken coop since we are not allowed birds where we live. Currently, he has an old fence installed that is falling in and needs to be replaced. Since it's not my house, I don't want to build anything that screams "chicken run" in case he decides to repurpose the space at some point. I'm planning on installing aviary netting over the top. To make it tall enough for the men to walk in the run area, I'm planning on buying 10' 4x4s and sinking them 3', leaving a 7' post above ground. Fencing of this height does not seem very popular/readily available. So, I'm thinking of buying 2' hardware cloth for the bottom for predator protection and 5' horse fencing to keep the birds in. Then I'd hang them one on top of the other and join the two with hog ties.
Do you think this would work?
