Hello All,
I am looking for some advice, or perhaps a confirmation of workflow.
I had a client many, many years ago. They recently reached out to say that they had lost the master of a track and was wondering if I might still have it.
This was about 15 years ago, but I still had the HDD (FireWire) that I used to record their track, and managed to find a copy.
However, when I opened it, none of the effects would load as they are all old or no longer in production. The ancient Mac I used at the time is also out of service.
This got me to thinking that I should record effects channels when the project finishes incase the effects or audio application becomes unavailable.
This would add time to the project through, and artists might not see the value in it.
Do you do this to future proof your tracks or incase you want to send stems? Was this in the manual and I just forgot about it ;)
Thanks.
