Hi
I started HRT in January and in the past few weeks I have had a constant headache. Went to a different (male) GP today and he's concerned because 1. Headaches that won't abate and 2. My blood pressure was raised.
He advised I stop HRT immediately and see if the headaches subside. I argued that my already very low mood might take a dramatic fall but he was not accepting it. I have not been without hormones for eight years. I was on the mini pill then HRT.
I appreciate his fear of stroke risk etc but I don't want to rock the boat.
I'm recently diagnosed AuDHD and have significant mental health issues also. I'm also a single parent to an Autistic, combative eight year old with little support.
To add to the mix I am about to start Elvanse for the ADHD which comes with its own risks of increase blood pressure etc.
Do I continue the HRT and get another opinion?
Do I cease the HRT and risk 1. My mood tanking and 2. Worsened Menopause symptoms?
I'm really at a loss. I just want to be functional again, get back to work and be able to live life NOT just exist.
I know you can't give medical advice but what would you do?
Cheers GB
