800 Calorie Diet?

I am just curious if any of you have ever been “advised” by your medical professional to only eat 800 calories while taking a glp1.

I have a friend who got into a clinical trial for retatrutide and they literally told her the pharmaceutical guideline is 800 cals max (but doc said she could do 1000). She’s not small. To say I’m shocked would be an understatement. All this proves to me is that the pharmaceutical company wants max results - no matter how terrible the medical advice - so they can get their drug approved and make money.

I am so upset and worried about her HEALTH and she is desperate so she is going to take this advice to starve herself. 😞 I know it’s her life but how can these medical providers and pharmaceutical companies live with themselves giving that kind of advice?
