Smart Bro Roaming Suddenly no coverage?
Long story short I am currently in Japan for long term. Need ko parin for OTP ung smart ko so i activated roaming... from october to march it worked normally. Bigla nalang na notice ko na naka marked as Emergency Services nlang ung smart bro sim ko and wala akong receive na messages. Last message natanggap ko is last March 31. May load pa naman ung account ko.
Contacted smart support, they told me as philippines lang daw pwede gamitin ung smart bro and they can't do anything about it. I don't know why I didn't feel like I could trust the answer coz It was working fine until march 31. I've never even heard of that being that case for almost 30 years living in the Philippines. When I asked why roaming worked for 5 months before if it was only meant to be used locally and they told me nagupgrade daw ng signal sa japan.
The only way apparently to fix this is to get a lawyer for special power of an attorney here in Japan. send a soft copy of my ID, with an authorization letter to someone i know, get them to go to a smart store and have them convert the smart bro sim to a regular smart sim. And then send that back to me. Not only will this take a considerable amount of time and effort but it probably will take a considerable amount of money. May pinadala ako na documents ako from ph to japan and automatic 4k na agad binayaran ko. Imagine if nag hire pa ako ng lawyer dito sa japan.
Anyone ever experienced something similar? What did you do? Does anyone know here if legit yung excuse ng customer support?
