Bag repairs

Pretty stoked to be able to haul water bottles with my bag and have extra storage this summer! I bought my bag used awhile ago. It was heavily used when I bought it and the pockets were torn halfway off. But the bag fit my budget and it came with a putter and two markers. This last weekend I was doing bag tags and got dehydrated after running out of water. So I decided to watch a video on different stitches. I ended up repairing the water bottle pockets using a back stitch with a hand needle and some heavy thread! Not the prettiest job. But fun to learn a new skill and hopefully get my bag to last a little longer until I can get some extra money set aside for a nicer bag.

Next repair will be the upper pocket and putter pocket. Both are torn and held together with safety pins to keep discs from falling through. I'm planning to cut up an old pair of jeans and stitch a denim patch into the existing material. It seems like the denim should be durable and work great! After that I need to give her a bath and clean off the winter muck from muddy PNW rounds.

Anyone else do repairs or modifications on their bag? If so what worked best for patching torn pockets and how did it hold up for you?
