Just a vent since other GP owners will probably understand more than most how terrible this is for a GP.
I moved into a rental house in December. The house is a craphole, but had a fenced yard, mostly private with only one neighbor with a tall wooden fence, and chain link fence for the rest of the yard. Was told I can't use the detached garage - fine, I assumed they're using it for storage.
2 months in, landlord starts construction to turn detached garage into an apartment. Cue people in the yard from 7am until sometimes 10pm, jackhammering, nail gun, sawing, trench dug in yard. My GP is losing her mind. Even when they aren't in the yard/garage working, when we go outside she immediately runs over and just barks at the garage. She's constantly on edge and even more barky than usual. We basically can't use the yard anymore, have to go out on leash in the front yard. And now that it's getting warm, I apparently can't open the windows because she'll hear them working and go crazy.
When I told the landlord how disruptive this is (when he first started) he just said "well we told you the garage wasn't included"
I'm planning on breaking my lease and telling my landlord to go pound sand. I can't wait to get out of here.
