I went off Latuda on March 13th. I was on it for 9 months and tapered off in a month, which is pretty fast.. but feeling good so far. Last year I cold turkey quit several different drugs at once which landed me in the ward a month and a half later. Which eventually led me to starting Latuda 40mg->60mg.

I gained weight pretty rapidly on Latuda and now have stretch marks on my arm and abdomen. Felt kind of dulled down. I smoked weed heavily daily and drank excessively during those 9 months.

I am ~14 days clean from weed and 9 days clean from nicotine. I lost my craving for self medicating. I don’t even like the smell of weed anymore.

First 2 weeks being off Latuda I started waking up around 3-4AM every night but able to go back to sleep. Some irritation and moodiness exacerbated by quitting marijuana and nicotine.

Now I’m sleeping throughout the night. No signs of mania, delusions, or any sign of my “condition” returning. Even my irritability is dying down.

Hopefully this isn’t a honeymoon phase, that was a fast taper. Feeling pretty good.

Day 1 quitting all nicotine cold turkey. I’ve done this so many times! I learnt yesterday that nicotine can increase visceral fat which is fat on your belly. That scares me so I’m using that to hold me back from the cravings 😬
