I finished the loop for a data analyst role at Google last week and the recruiter just emailed me to inform me I didn't get the role. I'm very disappointed since I thought I did really well on all of the interviews.

I had a technical screen that was a relatively easy set of SQL questions. I tripped up on one small thing, talked it out with the interviewer, and was able to code up the solution.

I heard back the week after that they want to proceed with an RRK, leadership, and problem solving interview. If I had to guess, I'd say I had a strong hire for RRK and leadership and a hire for problem solving.

The recruiter email said: The team thought that many great points of your experience stood out, after careful consideration, they have ultimately decided not to move forward to the next stages of the hiring process for this role at this time. Please know this was a challenging decision for the team; they were fortunate to receive the interest level that they have in this role, and it was truly a matter of narrowing down to those the team felt were the most qualified for this position. We will keep your resume active in our system and continue to match your profile with new opportunities, and we will reach out to you if we find an opening for which you may be qualified. Additionally, I encourage you to keep an eye out and apply directly to other positions of interest to you on careers.google.com.

The recruiter also said they'd be available for a follow-up call to discuss the application. The earliest slot they had available was next week

I'm just wondering if anything will actually come out of this since this doesn't seem like a hard rejection.
