Unofficial Whispers Page

Unofficial Whispers Page

An asemic page I made based on some unfinished ideas by u/Zurasuta

The asemic is based on Cuneiform (see the repeating shapes), but instead of the triangles and straight lines, there's swirls and curves. The art is based on the Encyclopedia pages, with the characters being the Whispers

The functional version of this is already finished, I just need to finish the key and handwriting guide :)

DCS: A drain cover turned featural English cypher

This is an English cypher created using the patterns in a drain cover I found.

The most interesting part of the making of was probably how things were assigned, since I wanted it to be featural but I also didn't want a lot of obvious repetition. I had to be careful when deciding what category of information went with what category of glyph modifications, which is how PoA and MoA placements were decided.

Another thing was that as far as I could tell, there's not enough information in sound production to make every possible modification carry meaning, so I had to drop most ring count meanings of circle start and focus on ensuring the variety of layer placement.

Finally, vowels needed to have high ring counts so that small rings like Labial wouldn't be stranded in words, but next to large ring counts like Velar, it became excessive. So, I added a system to allow vowels to change sizes according to the context as the ring counts don't interact with vowel meanings and can thus be used for aesthetic variation.

With all of that, it was just a matter of some iteration to iron out some issues, and it's done. If you want to write in it, I recommend an image editing software or a drawing program (I used Krita) to make the full glyphs and arrange them as needed.
