I’ve never had diverticulitis before. It cam out of now where a day ago and now I’m the hospital with perforated diverticulitis. Surgeon said expect to wear a bag for six months. I’m 49 years old and have never had surgery before and to be honest I am a little scared. Can anyone give me advice on what to expect during (obviously I’ll be asleep), and then after? Not looking for medical advice just some insight to calm my fears. Thanks.
