When Did Games Become So Loud?

Between the music and the announcers at games, they’ve gotten so unbelievably loud. I find that when I do attend, it is so overstimulating that I end up feeling like crap for the rest of the day, or the next day for night games. At the Sydney game yesterday, I could barely enjoy the drama because I was constantly having to MAKE. SOME. NOISEEEEE

I want to talk to my friends during the breaks and before the game, or maybe just collect my thoughts and take a break from cheering. Instead, I can’t hear them at all, and I can barely hear myself think!

It doesn’t seem like people enjoy the announcer stuff. Rarely does anyone around me get involved (eg cheering on individual players, or various ‘cams’), so I don’t understand why they do it. It’s at the point where I rarely go to games anymore, and being earplugs when I do.

What do other people think? Am I just a grumpy old man who can’t handle it, or is this a problem for lots of us? How do we go about creating change ?
