Proof of concept is working well - 22ah LiFePo deep cycle being charged by a 20w panel through an MPPT solar charge controller pushing 12v to a "Renjoy" 150w balance charger; it's having no problem charging my 4000mah 2S Lipo. I'm only seeing minor voltage drop on the battery while in partial sun.
