I’m curious how other small business owners think about this…

I’m kind of at the stage where I’m burnt out trying to keep up with organic social myself, so I’m thinking about hiring someone to take it over.

But I keep hitting the same wall... I already struggle to measure the direct impact of socials on my business (in terms of revenue), so how do I justify paying for it?

For anyone who’s outsourced organic social:

  • how do you justify the cost?
  • and how do you actually measure if it’s worth it?

I’m dealing with a client who wants to cut their organic social budget because they “can’t see ROI” and I honestly don’t know how to answer that in a way that feels convincing.

I can show engagement, reach, even some traffic… but none of it really ties cleanly back to revenue, at least not in a way they care about.

So I kind of get where they’re coming from.

For those of you managing clients, how do you handle this conversation?

Are you:

  • trying to connect organic to conversions somehow
  • focusing more on long-term brand value
  • or just accepting that it’s hard to prove?

Would really appreciate hearing how others approach this because I feel like I’m missing something.
