Oilfield to Trucking advice
Currently working in oilfield West Texas, 27 years old. Make about $4k every 2 weeks.
I've had a CDL A for about a month, planning on getting all the endorsements soon.
Current job, I probably drive a commercial vehicle once a month, so not a ton of experience driving. But I enjoy when I do.
Really thinking about switching, just wondering what to expect when starting new as a trucker.
Maybe Sand Hauler or Rolfson Oil? But I doubt they hire guys with minimal experience
What can I expect for:
- Pay
- Hours (Currently working about 100 hours a week, with a 14/7 schedule, so not too worried about that)
- Any red flags I need to look it for before joining a company
Wife will be a nurse soon so a small pay cut won't kill me.
