I just got 3 months of CrunchyRoll and want to make the most of it.

My favourite anime is Neon Genesis Evangelion.

My favourite game is Nier Automata and I love the anime.

In general I like the philosophy/depression/existential vibe.

I'd prefer more grown up stuff to "cute" stuff (I'm almost 40....).

I prefer slow and thoughtful to all out action. But don't mind action if it's earned.

I'm growing out of isekai.

I can put up with some "fan service" if the story is good but prefer it not to be the focus.

I'd love some recommendations along these lines. Sci-fi/Fantasy preferred. I don't mind if it's old or new.
