Hello all,

I want to preface with the fact that my family and I have contacted an immigration lawyer and such but after more research we are wondering if we should bother with the consult or if the lawyer will sugar coat stuff to get money from us.

My parents are looking to retire to France as my older brother just got a job in Mons, Belgium and the concern is I (27f) won't be able to immigrate there too as I am disabled. I have schizophrenia, Bipolar 2, generalized anxiety disorder and autism and this past year had my thyroid removed due to metastatic thyroid cancer that also spread to 7 lymph nodes. At 15 I had a bilateral PE that put me in ICU for 7 days and a regular room for 1 but I figure that may not matter as much as it's been over a decade and I also have had a gastric bypass and am on multiple medications (including psych and antidepressants and one med so far is US only).

The immigration lawyer said I could go along with my parents most likely but insurance would be expensive but I have also read other places online it likely would be impossible for us to pull this off so I just wanted to see if anyone else on here pulled something similar off. I am also on disability and Medicaid and tried to work 4 times but couldn't and got an IEP diploma in high school instead of a regular one as I couldn't pass the Math as I have an extreme math learning disability.

Thanks for any advice or comments in advance!
