My gastroenterologist has prescribed amitriptyline, which is an antidepressant, for my symptoms such as, urge to eat often (6-7 meals a day), sour taste in mouth, abdominal pain/ bloat, and dumping syndrome. This is after multiple upper GI tests like endoscopy, breath and Bravo tests proved inconclusive, and none of the H2 + H1 blockers including PPIs proved ineffective. I was wondering if anyone has been prescribed this drug for symptoms mentioned above, and if it has worked for you. Thanks.
