This is rooted mainly in a dilemma I'm having but I was wondering what people thought about using the names of pre-existing characters for their ocs? Like, for example (and the reason I'm making this post in the first place), I adore tamarins and they are my absolute favorite primate, but of course there is already a character in wof with the name Tamarin. Another part of it is how prevalent of a character is it okay to steal the name of. Again, Tamarin is not only a character in the books but she also plays a fairly big role as well, which adds to the issue of using her name for an oc. (Sorry if anything is worded weird)
