Painting a Kill Team, W40k Shrine statue. First ever go at doing candles. I know I could put a heap of time in and make them look super good, but this is a terrain piece and I only want to spend a few minutes. I'll do some red OSL on the statue... But the candles don't look great. Any quick tips or advice? Something super simple? Can't go ivory or light with the candles as they'll be sitting on a stone/ivory/light brown coloured base and I need the contrast. I do want them to stand out. The main statue isn't finished yet either.

My wife reads/finishes a book every fortnight. She is currently reading "Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir" cause we saw the movie. She is loving it but it's the most scifi she has read. She loves crime, mystery and suspense normally. I recommended the Eisenhorn Omnibus. I've not read it myself, but have seen enough online to understand the jist of the plot. Would she like Eisenhorn? She knows basically nothing about 40k except it's in the far future full of "psychic's," demons and chaos gods cause this is the cool shit I've told her about haha. What do you all think? Should I bother, or just let her stick with her hobbies like Taylor Swift and crime novels. Not trying to get her into 40k, just have the book here and wondered if she might like it? I also don't want to kill her motivation for reading as it's really improved her mental well-being.
