Noticed my engine fan running after I shut off the truck, and the AC stopped working. Took it in to my local Chevy dealership/ service department where I get my services done (the GMC dealership I bought it from is a shit show) thinking it was a temp sensor issue, and also mentioned my gear shift not locking into park when shutting off the truck, so I couldn’t get the key out unless I slammed the shifter into park. They call me later and it’s going to be +3k for a cooling fan, temp sensor and coolant flush… as well as to replace the entire gear shifter. I complained that the gear shifter is a known problem with Canyons, and she started looking into power train warranty, and said she got it down to 1.6k for all the repairs. I’m still a little irritated that a vehicle, barely 4 years old, would need repairs like this. I take the truck in for all scheduled maintenance to the certified mechanics, don’t ride it rough, and generally take good care of it. Only other time I’ve had this type of crap happen was years ago, when lo and behold, I had a Sierra. Half temped to dump the damn thing and go get a ridgeline again. Never had a single issue this that truck. Is this just the GMC/Chevy service department trying to take advantage?
