What a feeling!

This is on the side of my house, actually my neighbors lawn. He’s pretty chill so I’ve talked to him about trying to fix this patch of forever dead and water logged bullshit. My house is graded above his, so when it rains it just becomes a pool, and takes forever to evaporate. I know a drain of some type would probably help, but I don’t know how much I want to invest in a property that isn’t mine. Is there any way to remedy this without digging in a drain? Thanks!
