Sugar girl EP Review
It’s currently 7am and I have school later. I woke up at like 5:30 and couldn’t fall asleep so I was like “yk what? Let’s listen to sugar girl”.
Track by track review:
That’s a no no: No complaints from this song. Great melodic rap performance from simz. Her flow on the second half of the song is CRAZYY 🔥🔥.
Game on: The lead single of the EP. In all honesty, I wasn’t a big fan of simz’s repetitive lines but JT SNAPPED on the song. She was rapping like rent is due.
Open arms: IMO, my least favourite track (that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s bad, it’s just when you compare it to all the others it’s easily the one with the least quality. I am trying to be as open minded as possible). Both simz’s and deela’s verses were great and had no flaws whatsoever. My least favourite part was the drum pattern. I know it sounds crazy but it just doesn’t appeal to me.
Telephone: my favourite track on the album, hands down. I LOVE Melodic rap, and in this song it’s executed perfectly. Even better than That’s A No No. And when accompanied by 070 shake’s vocals, it becomes a heavenly listening experience. 10/10
Overall rating: im feeling a light to decent 8 on this.
Edit: I wrote this at 7am lying in my bed and I feel like I was being a little bit too positive. I still think it’s good, but def not a decent 8. It’s more like a strong 7
