Favorite Grahame moments?

This is a post in which to just blurt out little things that make you happy about Grahame's shows, photography, meeting him, etc! It doesn't have to be something big, it can just be "I caught this tiny little tease in that song" or "I feel lucky to have seen Grahame sit in with Gillian Welch or David Rawlings". Or it could be a whole essay. As long as it's random Grahame love, it belongs here!

BERTHA: Grateful Drag brought to stage by Grahame Lesh on Jerry Garcia's birthday during GD60 in San Francisco! AWESOME Ramble On Rose

For two queer women (my wife and I) who basically blew our savings at middle-age to make a week in SF work (and see Bobby's final shows, as it turned out), this was a highlight of the Heart of Town festival Grahame threw in a warehouse (for some reason). The spores of inclusion were floating all around the room for this little interlude! 💀🌹🏳️‍🌈

Monster Pride of Cucamonga > Truckin' > Caution > Pride reprise played by GLAF (Grahame Lesh and Friends) during Unbroken Chain, Phil's 85th birthday celebration

It was a genuine joy dancing up in the balcony to this ripping medley, played during Unbroken Chain (a celebration of recently-passed Phil's 85th birthday) at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY. Some of the younger heads were kinda confused by this jam, which was hilarious. Us old-timers were grinning like idiots.

GLAF (Grahame Lesh and Friends) 3-17-25 Encore (DR/Patchwork Quilt/Box of Rain) with the Phil Lesh Quintet (Warren Haynes, Jimmy Herring, Rob Barraco, John Molo)

This is the final encore of the 4-show run that restored my hope that innovative Dead was still a thing after Phil's passing in Autumn of 2024. The first two nights felt like a very fitting tribute to Phil and Friends, the "version" of the Dead that I most followed since the 90s. But on the third night, Gramahe started stepping out of his father's shoes, and taking things in new directions of his own. And on this final night, Grahame led the Phil Lesh Quintet in a way that both honored Phil and also showed his own innovative spirit - the genius spark had passed from father to son. This encore had me, and most of the audience, crying alongside Grahame.

Anybody know how to build a database / setlist / stats website like www.go-set.net?

I'd love to build a database of GLAF shows like www.go-set.net - the Dogs in a Pile show tracker / annotated setlist / stat tracking / utterly cool nerd site. BUT - I have no idea how to do much of anything but build Wordpress sites. Does anybody have an idea where to start / want to help?

Anybody know if Arlington and Fairfield got taped?

My friend Josh was at both shows (with my tickets, since I injured myself at the Brooklyn Bowl concert on Thursday - bloody Lyme disease!). He said that he didn't see a taper's section. Would be a shame if both performances of Equinox (and two great shows) were lost to history... If you happened to tape either, I can help clean up the recordings if you're not an Audition whiz with a little home studio!

Looking for fellow moderators!

Anybody else want to help this community thrive? I really don't expect there to be a lot of hate / bullshit in a Grahame Lesh forum, but having another pair of eyes on the thing would be helpful. Please DM me if interested!

Keep Your Lamps Trimmed and Burning - Grahame Lesh and Friends at Unbroken Chain 1, Night 3, with Teresa Williams on vocals

Since my first "Dead" show (The Other Ones, Darien Lake '98) had Hot Tuna as an opener and they played this, it just blew my mind at night 3 of last year's Unbroken Chain. Phil would have loved this. Enjoy!

Tonight's GLAF (Grahame Lesh and Friends) Show - Regent Theatre, Arlington MA, 05-09-26

Holy hell, they more or less did a lot of the amazing Thursday show that killed my Lyme-riddled body 'cause I just couldn't not dance - but with Equinox!!!!

Any of y'all lucky enough to attend?

Tennessee Jed w/ Preservation Hall Horns, Joy Theater, New Orleans 4/29/26

A jazzy version of the song that got me into the Dead - and synchronicity! - was played at my very first show (The Other Ones, Darien Lake, 1998).

Grahame drops "France" at Pier 48 in San Francisco

A friend gave me this video from one of Grahame's insane afterparties - the Shakedown Street rarity "France", never played by the Dead live - for me, a first-time-seen (though I believe Donna sang it with the Zen Tricksters once or twice before I moved to NYC).

👋 Welcome to r/GrahameLesh - Introduce Yourself and Read First!

Hey everyone! I'm u/GenevieveDawn, a founding moderator of r/GrahameLesh.

I was sort of shocked to find out that there wasn't a dedicated community for Grahame / GLAF / TFB / Midnight North / etc already on reddit... so I decided to make one. The first two nights of the 2025 Unbroken Chain shows felt like bidding goodbye to Phil and Friends. I was in the "Too young for Jerry, too smart for Phish" camp, so I got on the bus with The Other Ones at Darien Lake in 1998. But the following year I saw PLAF, and they became my staple for decades.

By the end of that Unbroken Chain run, Grahame had clearly stepped into his father's shoes - while still doing a tribute to Phil and his lineups, he did his own thing, culminating in leading the Q on the final show. I'm now 100% on the bus for Grahame, who I see to be the new face of the next generation of the dead (sorry, Mayer fans). If you're of like mind, then welcome!

What to Post
Please post whatever you like about Grahame's shows, photography, interviews, whatever. Keep in mind that this is a Grahame-centered forum, and is not the place to bicker about whether Oteil does this better, or Mayer does that better - save that for Dead & Co and Oteil channels.

But please post your videos, pics, stories from the road, hot takes on lineups, what worked, what didn't, and face value only ticket offers!

Community Vibe
We're Deadheads. Let's act like it. There will be a "zero-strikes" policy for being unkind. No misogyny, homophobia, ageism, racism, fascism, etc.

Please keep discussion of sourcing/obtaining illicit things elsewhere. Remember that Reddit is not Signal or Bittorrent.

How to Get Started

  1. Introduce yourself in the comments below.
  2. Post something today! Even a simple question can spark a great conversation.
  3. If you know someone who would love this community, invite them to join.
  4. Interested in helping out? We're always looking for new moderators, so feel free to reach out to me to apply - I'm a queer girl with multicolor hair, you've probably seen me at the Cap, Pier 48 in SF, Brooklyn Bowl, Hudson Fest, etc.

Thanks for being part of the very first wave. Together, let's make r/GrahameLesh amazing.
