Here's a few things we've tested or added to our 2020 Transit Connect 2.0L GDI/Flex over the last 4 years. One of the best things, was upgrading from the OE 24mm sway bar which included adding the Hardrace 28mm sway bar (designed for the Ford Escape but fits the van) and increased the M10 holes to M12. Adding diamond tucked carbon fiber panels with swede fabric wrap on the van's interior areas. Having the AXE CS Lite wheels chromed, Powder coating the custom lowering springs red adding "truck" shocks with custom shock adapters and more. You're looking at a lot of research and cross referencing just to get an idea of what could fit and what wont fit on the van, We've had help from John Hotchkis. a lot of trial and error. Parts that fail often like the low quality M10 ball joints and just one of the reasons we upgraded to the M12 ball joints and bolts. Custom drilled and slotted rotors with upgraded brake pads. Upgraded bearings and spindles. the kids in the area say it's slammin.. while the old fellow says it's a sleeper..

Is It A Minivan or A Truck?

According to Ford, Our 2020 Transit Connect 2.0L GDI Cargo is technically listed as a truck.. But others say its a utility or delivery van.. We say its our sports car. Over the last 4 years, we've systematically upgraded the suspension on our 2020 Connect as to include parts from the Focus, Escape, Maverick, Jaguar, Mazda and Volvo. Stiffer but lowered springs, better shocks, increase diameter sway bar and beefier ball joints, control arms from the larger Transit 250. They say a project is never done and we believe it, we're still testing new parts on the van. In two weeks we'll be adding new HD heim joint spacers for a new set of rear Monroe shocks. You can learn more about these upgrades on our official reddit page here: r/Gen2Performance
