Being a Crash Bandicoot fan is frustrating
Sorry in advance if this is going to sound like a rant but it’s so hard for me to understand what Activision is doing with the franchise so i wanna share my feelings.
10 years ago (or so) we got one of the biggest comebacks in gaming history with N. sane trilogy, it was not perfect but it was great. A 20 year old game looked fresh new with new graphics and everybody loved it.
So they took the next step: CTR.. And holy hell did it look great. The single player was amazing and the feeling of beating the dev times was incredible.
But how about the online gameplay? How could they release a game with such high potential with such a bad online gameplay? Basically CTRNF had no lifeline without a good online and so it died.
Then Crash 4 got announced and wasn’t everybody excited? And what did they do? They changed the entire look of every character, same mistake They Made with Crash of the titans.
Don’t get me wrong the game wasn’t bad but it was too hard to complete for casuals and also a bit chaotic, maybe it’s Just me but it didn’t feel a Crash game but more of a Crash wannabe game.
And then Crash team rumble came out, I’m not even gonna waste anymore of your time on that.
And now here we are in 2026 with a dead franchise, same as it was 10 years ago.
As I said I’m sorry if this sounds like a useless rant but I’ve been a fan since 96 and it’s frustrating to see something with such high potential being wasted like this.
I mean couldn’t the Crash world be as good as the Mario world? What do you guys think?
